Question: What are the advantages of concrete over granite or marble?

The biggest advantage of concrete is that it is completely customizable. You can sculpt it mold it and texture it to your own desires. You can have the natural stone look, color, and texture to compliment your decor and do it equally as well whether in traditional or contemporary settings.

Question: How do the costs compare to granite or marble?

If you have a kitchen or bathroom counter made for you the price will be based on the complexity of the form (or mold) making process and the desired finish, rather than the size. Cost comparisons between materials should be done on a project by project basis, including backsplashes, edge styles, and installation.

Question: Can I cut on the surface?

As with marble or granite we do not recommend that you cut directly on it. It could result in scratches, and gouges in the counter as well as harm blades on your knives. The countertop can be re-finished in place.

Question: Can concrete countertops chip, flake, or crack?

Just like granite or Marble, concrete corners or edges can chip if hit by a hard object. Hairline cracks can develop, but these are not structural failures, rather they are inherent characteristics of the material. Chips can be repaired satisfactorily.

Question: How strong is concrete?

All of our countertops are engineered with a specific mix design and are re-enforced with steel for years of durability and enjoyment.
